TopicLingo — Terms of Service

Effective date: November 6, 2026

These terms apply when you download or use TopicLingo, a vocabulary app that teaches a few terms a day from the topics people are talking about, and when you buy anything in it. Please read them; they are short. Nothing in them takes away rights you have under the consumer protection law of the country where you live.

1. Who we are

TopicLingo is made and sold by Proliferaite LLC, a limited liability company organized under the laws of the State of New Jersey, United States. We offer the app as a business, so where you are a consumer, consumer protection law applies to your contract with us. We commit to offering only products and services that comply with applicable law, including the law of the European Union and the United Kingdom.

Questions, complaints and requests about TopicLingo go to that address. We answer every message, normally within a few working days.

2. What TopicLingo costs

TopicLingo is free to download and free to use. It contains no in-app purchases and no subscriptions.

It is supported by a small number of ads: at most one full-screen ad per day after you finish your daily pack, and an optional video ad you may choose to watch to earn a streak freeze.

Because TopicLingo sells nothing, no payment is ever taken by the app or by us. If a future version adds a purchase, these terms will be updated first, with the price, what it gives you, and your cancellation rights.

3. If something is wrong with the app

TopicLingo must work as described in its store listing and in these terms, and the law of your country may give you rights if it does not. If something does not work, email us: we will fix it, normally with an app update. Because the app is free, the remedy is that we fix it. We also provide the updates, including security updates, needed to keep the app working as described. These rights are in addition to the store's refund process, not instead of it.

4. Ads and your consent

Ads in TopicLingo are served by Google AdMob. Ads never play sound, and video ads that unlock something are always your choice. If you are in the EEA, the UK or Switzerland, the app asks for your consent before any personalised advertising, and you can decline or change your choice later; declining never blocks the game. What AdMob processes, and why, is set out in the TopicLingo Privacy Policy.

5. Your licence to use the app

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use TopicLingo on devices you own or control, for your own non-commercial use, under these terms and the store's terms (on the App Store, Apple's Licensed Application End User License Agreement). The app, its content and its name remain ours. Please do not copy, resell, modify or reverse engineer the app, or use it to break the law, except where the law allows you to.

6. Changes to the app

We improve the app over time and may change, add or remove features. We will not take away something you have paid for, except where the law, a security problem or the store requires it; if that ever happens, you will be entitled to whatever remedy the law of your country gives you, which may include a refund. If we stop offering the app altogether, it will keep working on devices it is already installed on for as long as the store and your device allow.

7. Our responsibility to you

We take reasonable care to make TopicLingo work well, but we cannot promise it will be free of every fault or always available. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that were not foreseeable, for loss of data that a reasonable backup would have prevented, or for business losses — the app is for personal use.

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot legally be limited or excluded, and nothing in them affects your statutory rights as a consumer. If you are a consumer in the EU, the EEA or the UK, our responsibility to you is the one your country's law sets out.

8. Children

TopicLingo is a general-audience app. Purchases should be made by, or with the permission of, a parent or guardian, who can also manage purchase approvals in the store's family settings.

9. Disputes and governing law

If you have a problem, please contact us first — most things can be put right quickly. These terms are governed by the law of the State of New Jersey, United States. If you are a consumer living in the EU, the EEA or the UK, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country where you live, and you may bring a claim in the courts of that country.

We are not obliged to, and do not, take part in alternative dispute resolution procedures before a consumer arbitration body.

10. Changes to these terms

We will post any change to these terms at this address and update the effective date. A change never applies to a purchase you made before it, unless it is in your favour or required by law.
